Theory on female offending
Several theories in criminology explain offending in women, such as masculinity theory, opportunity theory, chivalry theory, and marginalization theory (Deckert, 2020). The masculinity theory tries to explain the performance that a woman exhibits, which is different from the traditional view where men were the ones who are masculine and dominant. Highly masculine women are fond of making mistakes such as high socio-sexuality. The opportunity theory indicates that poverty in society has two impacts on property crime (Deckert, 2020).
It causes some individuals to have thoughts of using illegal ways to acquire property ending up offending them while on the other hand, it can reduce the opportunities to participate in property crime by minimizing the supply.
