As the epitome of the new era of communication, social media has brought about various attributes of communication together, making it a comprehensive information channel. Social media has become an interactive medium; it is a source of information, bridges communication gaps, allows idea sharing within the workplace, offers customer interaction and crisis communication tools.[1] Today, the social platforms are widely becoming acceptable among many in all levels of organizations as it offers effective communication approaches that are less costly, and less time-consuming.
The new era has changed personal communication with people communicating at all times at any place. It is possible to send an email or text, a file while on transit, in the bathroom, dinner, class, or work. Continuous technological invention has led to gradual improvement of these platforms making it possible to make calls, send group messages, emails or hold visual calls[2]. As a result, it transformed the way of sharing information at a personal and group communication. Consequently, these means have been incorporated in the workplace and the corporate world.
