The World HealthOrganizationn acknowledges that the addiction to online games is a significant contributor to mental health anomalies. Figures nearing 29.9 million gamers have been recorded in the Philippines. The cases of reported Depression are also increasing tremendously in the country. This correlation analysis weighed the relation between online game compulsion and Depression in Filipino Youth.
Methods of data collection used included a written down self-directed questionnaire evaluating the rate of Depression and online game habits conducted between August to November 2018. The questionnaire targeted the population-analysis outline of the interviewees. Multiple regression study was used to determine the correlation between addiction to online games and Depression.
In conclusion, Depression, concerning online game addiction, is a big menace that needs close attention.
