Scheming a Cyber-NudgeDesigning a cyber- nudge refers to how an individual or options architect develops an environment of choices that helps individuals make decisions based on the options. The process is meant to influence online users to make a specific decision due to the nudge influence. The process undergoes several stages before it becomes effective and begins to be implemented as a nudging intervention. Some of the crucial stages involved to develop an effective nudging intervention technique include the following;
3.2 Establishing the Intended Target
Designers must first comprehend an organization’s broad objectives and keep them in mind when creating specific decision scenarios. For example, an e-commerce platform’s objective is to boost sales, a government taxing authority’s platform’s purpose is to make tax filing easier and encourage residents to be honest, and project creators on crowdfunding platforms’ goals are to increase pledges and overall donation amounts(Schneider et al., 2018). These objectives dictate how decisions are made and the type of decision that is made. A binary decision is, for example, subscribing to a newsletter. Some of the common nudging phrases include the following; agrees/disagrees yes/no an option statement that gives the users a chance to choose (Schneider et al., 2018). Choosing between products is a discrete decision, and monetary donations are a discrete decision. This stage requires one to identify the main purpose of the nudging intervention to enable them to pick the right audience to target and seek the best way to make it effective.
