Issues in High Population for Aging
One of the common issues that affect the ageing population is cognitive health, which can think and remember. The common problem facing elderly or aged people is dementia which is the loss of memory and learning ability. Research shows that about 47.5 million people of the ageing population have dementia which is stipulated to double by 2030. The joint disease is Alzheimer which many people in the US are suffering. According to health specialists, chronic diseases are predisposing factors for dementia.
One of the specific areas which are being addressed know is on retirement age. The government has extended the age at which an individual retires. The increasing retirement age has inflated the economy and reduced the amount of money used with the elderly searching for health services. Additionally, the government is encouraging immigration to boost its economy. More immigrants earn the government more money, promoting its economy and contributing to finances used to take care of the elderly.
According to Bowles et al. (2016), the Use of health technology information is a technological advancement that has helped nurses keep records about ageing people to ensure efficient health care services are provided. Nurses have been in the frontline to secure the electronic health record and HIT to ensure quality, safe and efficient services to the elderly.
Technology will be beneficial to the elderly in many ways. For example, using a machine like a wristwatch monitors sugar levels and blood pressure. Therefore, the Use of such technologies will reduce stress among the elderly, reducing the cost the government incur on the medical health of the elderly (Fares et al., 2021). elderly will use One specific area technology is to measure sugar level and blood pressure to elderly with health issues to enable them to monitor their health without help.
