Building a Dramatic Center
There are many types of dramatic center that the teacher can choose from. One recognizable dramatic center is called the Grocery Store Dramatic Center. The teacher, before selecting a dramatic center should be informed by what makes the store relatable. From the daily activities, it will be easier to understand what type of center to make. The Grocery Store Dramatic Center for instance will be in line with what the children already know. Going to a grocery and buying fruits might be a norm for most families. Parents need to be engaged in this case. Previously, if they were not being accompanied by their children and now the teacher wants to design the Grocery Store Dramatic Center, it will be important for the teacher to inform them about the importance. This way, they will easily identify with the project of making a center. Also, it is vital to ask the children questions about the Grocery Store Dramatic Center for a teacher to be sure if they are familiar with the set-up. After asking questions, it will be appropriate to ask the children to bring the recommended items to fill the grocery. Children will be required to arrange these materials. In awareness, arrangement is a concept in math. So, math literacy will also be put into test. In arranging the materials, the past experience will play a significance. In fact, it will be the determinant of how the teacher will improve literacy. In one of the visits to a grocery store, the child is expected to have noticed how the items like apple, bananas, and watermelons were arranged in the actual store. The preschool classroom with the Grocery Store Dramatic Center will be testing whether the child can remember. Remembering means that the information is memorized.
