We are in a new era of communication as the older means such as Television, Radio, and Print media become more affected by social media. The new ways of communication have brought shock to the traditional communication method. Computers and the internet made it possible to share information through means such as emails to send messages. In the 21st century, the invention of a social platform such as Facebook in 2004, followed by Twitters and many more that followed by availability of computers such as laptops, desktops, iPad, tablets, and cell phones that could host these platforms make it easy for personal communication.[1].
As the epitome of the new era of communication, social media has brought about various attributes of communication together, making it a comprehensive information channel. Social media has become an interactive medium; it is a source of information, bridges communication gaps, allows idea sharing within the workplace, offers customer interaction and crisis communication tools.[2] Today, the social platforms are widely becoming acceptable among many in all levels of organizations as it offers effective communication approaches that are less costly, and less time-consuming.
