A case study of the kinesiology building is the Canada College kinesiology wellness building. According to an article on the school’s construction project, the building is located in Redwood City, California. The school’s facilitators will open the building in January 2022. Its target occupants are the athletes of Canada College, the community around the university, and any student in the university who wishes to engage in sports because it is an educational center. The building’s cost is approximately $96 million, and its size is 115000 square feet (Bruning et al. 45). The building has various architectural features of different sizes.
An example is the 60 square feet high canopy and a 35000 square feet roof. The top also cantilevers 30 feet beyond the building. The building is unique in that it pursues LEED Gold accreditation. Its structures are impressive given their transitioning design from having brace frames at the ground level to steel moment frames at the middle part. At the top, the building has a roof trellis (Bruning et al. 45).
